Putting Ability Back into Disability

Do you know that wise quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Life is journey, not a destination”?  Well, do you remember when you were younger and your family took a road trip and you asked "Are we there yet?" You couldn’t wait to get to wherever it was that you were going. Don't you wish you were able to go back to your younger self and be present in that moment and not be in such a hurry? That is what the “present” is. It is a gift and each day we get to decide what we are able to do with it.  No matter who you are or what cards life has dealt you, you can always redefine what you are "able” to do today. So, what does ability mean to you? What are you “able” to do?

Thousands of people are redefining what ability means to them and how they no longer bound by a wheelchair or by disability. Think of an athlete who competes in the Paralympics or a paralyzed veteran who served courageously for our country. Every day there are opportunities for people to do more. It’s all about what you know, right? Well at BLVD, we like to think of the glass as half full and we know people are able to do so much more if they can get the right information. That is why BLVD is bringing together businesses and suppliers who are leading the mobility industry with cutting edge technology and products with people who need it most.

BLVD is your road to a quality of life unlike any other. Right at your fingertips, you will have access to all types of mobility products and services in one centralized place. You can even read other visitor’s reviews. After all, we are not on this journey alone. We believe it is always helpful to have support along the way and that is our number one goal. So what is next? What will you do or where will you go today? The answer is simple. What are you "able" to do?

Mobility Blogger

My professional background stems from non-profit marketing and fundraising for a large children’s cancer hospital. Every day I was able to make connections and relationships for kids and their families going through devastating times. From securing small donations to large corporate support, it was all about providing hope that one day doctors and researchers would find a cure. It was truly an honor to be a part of something so important.

Just this past year, I came to work alongside my family for BLVD.com, a website dedicated to offering the latest information and resources for people needing mobility products. This was a dream come true for me as I have always wanted to combine more time with my family while still helping others. Our family has been in the mobility industry for over 35 years with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for people with mobility issues. This is the spirit behind BLVD and what I am most excited about sharing in my blog.

I love meeting new people and have found that volunteering is the best way to learn more about others and myself. Coffee keeps me going as do walks my pup "Kirby" and most of all being with family and friends. I invite you to check out my blog to learn more about how "together we can move through life better!"
