BraunAbility MXV With New TILT N’ GO Seating

In recent years BraunAbility has worked hard to again pivot the mobility industry, as they so famously did with wheelchair accessible minivans like the dodge grand caravan. The target of their next big step being wheelchair accessible SUV’s through the Ford Explorer. The spearheading of this movement was based in wanting to provide a more personal wheelchair transportation solution that allows customers to ride in a vehicle that suits their wants, needs and most importantly their personality.

Being the first company to develop a viable wheelchair accessible SUV such as the Ford Explorer, they were faced with many challenges; not the least of which being that an SUV just doesn’t have the interior space that a mini-van does. This type of limitation would have scared off most companies, but the engineers at BraunAbility rose to the challenge, and have introduced new upgrades to the MXV that go beyond the standard solutions one may find in the mobility industry.

What’s New?

The BraunAbility MXV Ford Explorer has standard features that pave the way for a new standard in the market. In a New MXV, one can expect to find a Kevlar belt driven Power In-Floor conversion boasting a ramp with an unbelievable 1,000 lb capacity, offering access to some of the largest and most advanced power chairs. As well as a shorter ramp coupled with kneel system, to allow for more flexibility in parking, while still ensuring an impressively low Ramp angle. As for the limited space an SUV offers, BraunAbility has unveiled the new TILT N’ GO seat base system. This new state of the art seat base allows users the ability to easily pivot the front seat forward out of the way of a wheelchair, offering up to 3 times the space to maneuver within the vehicle. This addition will allow the extra knee and foot level space needed to accommodate the largest powerchairs seen today.

BraunAbility’s advancements have opened the door for the mobility industry to begin producing world class wheelchair accessible SUV’s that meet and exceed the quality seen in todays wheelchair accessible minivans. My professional background stems from non-profit marketing and fundraising for a large children’s cancer hospital. Every day I was able to make connections and relationships for kids and their families going through devastating times. From securing small donations to large corporate support, it was all about providing hope that one day doctors and researchers would find a cure. It was truly an honor to be a part of something so important.

Just this past year, I came to work alongside my family for BLVD.com, a website dedicated to offering the latest information and resources for people needing mobility products. This was a dream come true for me as I have always wanted to combine more time with my family while still helping others. Our family has been in the mobility industry for over 35 years with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for people with mobility issues. This is the spirit behind BLVD and what I am most excited about sharing in my blog.

I love meeting new people and have found that volunteering is the best way to learn more about others and myself. Coffee keeps me going as do walks my pup "Kirby" and most of all being with family and friends. I invite you to check out my blog to learn more about how "together we can move through life better!"
