February 2, 2017 Eldorado Mobility This Toyota Sienna the vehicle has not been working satisfactory because the sliding door and ramp have had a variety of problems (that continue today) since I purchased it in March of 2016, brand new. The problems started within a week of purchase. At first, I thought the door and ramp problems were just a fluke because this was a brand new van that basically sat on a lot for 2 years before I bought it. I thought that perhaps the van just needed to be broke in a little; however, the problem has continued. I now have 8,000 miles on this Toyota. As an independent woman who lives an active life and is employed as an adjunct professor, I rely on my vehicle every day. I must have a vehicle that provides me with consistent, reliable, and safe transportation. I have listed a summary of the issues I have had since purchase. Sometimes the sliding door opens about one inch and then stops Sometimes the kneel goes up and down continuously for 5-10 minutes Sometimes the door opens but the ramp does not come down Sometimes the ramp will not go up or the door will not close Sometimes these things happen several times a day and several times a week Sometimes these things happen once a day and once a week Sometimes the button on the dashboard that opens the door/ramp does not work I do not think that I am exaggerating when I say that these problems have happened over 100 times……..in cold, hot, rainy, and snowy weather. On a few occasions, I have had to call the police to come and open the door for me in a parking lot (at night) after shopping. At other times, I have had strangers pick up the ramp while in manual mode because it would not move up on its own. These are vulnerable, and helpless situations that I do not like to be in. I also have missed most of the holidays this year because I was stuck at home because the door/ramp would not cooperate. I have had over nine months of ongoing misery. I have also gone many days without my van because it was in the repair shop 2 or 3 days at a time at Southern Bus & Mobility. The repair people at Southern Bus have replaced every part imaginable and spent lots of time and money trying to fix the van, without correction. The last several times that I called them about this they are at a lack for words. They no longer have suggestions or ideas; they are simply at a loss. And, I have a beautiful Toyota Sienna that does not work. Please consider this letter as evidence of my having serious, and almost daily problems with my vehicle. If needed, I have receipts available to confirm my attempts to get these issues solved. I am asking that you replace this vehicle with another new Toyota Sienna. I am anxiously waiting to hear from you. Sincerely, Denise Halel Addendum to previous letter: On January 12, 2017, Southern Bus put a new door motor on my Toyota van. They (Marcel and Larry) informed me that this was to be the final repair; they have replaced everything at this point and have no idea why the problem with my door and ramp persists. I was informed that this motor costs $1000 and hopefully this would fix the issue. The van door and ramp worked for six days. On January 19th the problems started again and have continued every day since. In the past week, on two occasions (Schnuck’s and Bed, Bath and Beyond) I had no choice but to leave the van with the sliding door open (because the door would not close) to do my shopping. Both of these times were in the evening. Four times this week at the place of my employment, I have had to call campus police to close the door because it would not close. Once I have asked a stranger to open the door and once I asked a stranger to close the door. This is obviously dangerous, and at this point, ridiculous. I rarely fear for my personal safety, but I do when I have to rely on strangers. I have been stranded or left vulnerable many, many times. This is not acceptable. In June I was told that the problem would be fixed before I drove to Arkansas. It wasn’t. Six months ago I was assured that the door issue would be fixed before my classes started, it wasn’t, and then I was assured that it would be fixed before winter set in. It wasn’t. The summary of issues listed on the previous page are still happening, NONE have been fixed. Nothing that Southern Bus has tried to do to fix the problem has worked; as I have said before, they have tried everything. Yesterday, January 25th, Larry at Southern Bus told me that Eldorado wants me to leave my van with them for 2-3 days so they can check it out. How many times do they need to do this? I have left it there a few times to check it out and it never, ever changed anything. In fact, they no longer have anything to check out. In time lost without a vehicle and the inconvenience of not being able to rent a modified van, my life has been disturbed way too many times. I need a van that works. I really have been patient and I have to admit that Southern Bus has done their best to fix the van. The Eldorado website states this on the first page: "Together, ElDorado Mobility and REV Group, Inc., work tirelessly to connect mobility customers to their world, all the while protecting them every mile of the way. You won’t find a more dependable wheelchair accessible van or a more trusted vehicle company that delivers revolutionary space, undeniable durability and lasting dependability." This has not been the case with me. Sincerely, Denise Halel
I purchased this 2007 Chevy uplander 4 months ago, so far The sliding doors cnstantly open and close on their own, I had to disable the door motors and pull fuses for them so the buzzer would stop when I put the van in gear. The kneeling feature does not work and I cannot find any data on it so I can fix it and the ramp. It will not deploy correctly you have to deploy and retract it manually. When I changed out the rotors and brake pads I found rotten rubber suspension parts and damaged power steering system. I know this is not the fault of the company I just cannot find any help to fix this a ll by myself . Just would like company site to get inf o on it.
