Installation Instructions or Four Piece RealTile Showers

STEP THREE:

Test fit all of the wall panels onto the base by first placing the back  panel into position over the base pins (Photo D) and secure  temporarily to a stud.

Next, measure or make a template of where holes will need to be  drilled in the side panel(s) for the valve stems and shower head.

Transfer these locations to the appropriate panel.

 Double check your measurements!

TIP!:
Drill only a 1/4" hole first to check hole placement
before drilling the larger holes with a hole saw.

Where the side panel meets the back panel, the side panel has two
elongated slots rather than holes. These slots are present so that
when installing the side panel onto the back panel pins, the side
panel will properly locate itself against the back panel and then slide
straight down into final position over the base pins.

VERY IMPORTANT! Check the vertical seam between the back
panel and the side panel. As is the case with most large panels that
are made of relatively light materials, some "dishing" may occur.
Note the width of any variance in the joint (see illustration left)
between the back panel and the side panel. You will correct this
 variance in a future step.

Repeat the above sequence with the remaining panel.

Mark the studs where the top of the back panel mounting flange makes contact with the wood. Shim gaps if necessary.

Before removing the side wall panels, drill 3/16" holes in the top flange at each stud, in the top outside corners of the flanges, and at 8" intervals down the side flanges for the mounting screws.

After all studs have been marked and the panels have been pre-drilled, check for clearance of at least 1/8" around faucet stems (Photo E) and remove all three panels for the last time.
